Steve Alperin is an award winning producer and media executive who has
been managing and building national outlets for nearly 20 years. As the
Head Writer and Producer for ABC’s World News Tonight with Peter
Jennings he oversaw thousands of hours of programming and guided
coverage for nearly every national event from the Clinton Administration to
the attacks on 9/11 and the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. As the Managing
Editor of ABCNews.com , Steve was responsible for adding millions of
users and overseeing groundbreaking investigations of wrongdoing in
Congress. Steve was most recently part of the leadership team which
created Vocativ, a company focusing on sourcing news stories from “The
Deep Web,” or the 80% of the internet which is not on Google. At Vocativ,
Steve successfully oversaw major TV programming deals with NBC
Universal and other major networks. He is a winner of the Dupont and
Murrow Awards for excellence in journalism as well as a two-time winner of
the Writers Guild of America award. He has degrees from Harvard and
Columbia.
